Thank you, August! Welcome, September! – 2024
August was a month that flew by. In fact, for some time now I’ve felt that time is passing more quickly. And that makes me think about the urgency of making the most of every moment.
If I had to list one major learning that these 31 days have brought me, it would be that I still haven’t become aware of the impermanence of my existence. And I’m writing this because, despite feeling, for example, that time is passing more quickly, I still find myself wasting time.
And what do I mean by wasting time? Is it doing nothing for a few hours? Is it taking a nap or taking a few moments to rest? No, what I mean is that I spend too much time on things that don’t matter. Whether it’s worrying about the future, worrying that people don’t like me, or feeding parallel universes that only exist in my head.
And all the time I spend on that is time that doesn’t return. So one of my intentions for September is to be more present and instead of focusing on things I don’t want and that don’t even exist, to dedicate myself to what I do like.
Despite this somewhat “pessimistic” statement about my attitude, I can say that with all the inner work I’ve been doing over the last 11 years, I’ve become an increasingly happy and fulfilled person. I still have a long way to go, but I’m immensely grateful for everything I’m capable of doing today that I would have thought impossible before. I’m so thankful!
One of the best moments of this month has been having the chance to meet different people from different cultures who have made their presence felt here at Casa Escola. Knowing that regardless of the language spoken, with goodwill we can always communicate and feel at home was something I also learned.
I’d also like to tell you a little something about myself: I love animals and I’m responsible for looking after the happy animals at Casa Escola. So you’ll probably find content about that here on the blog in the future.
I hope that September is as good as, or even better than, August and that in 30 days I’ll be here sharing my adventures.
Thank you, August!
Welcome to September!
